Château Lamothe de Haux
Located southwest of Bordeaux in the commune of Haux, the vienyard has been managed since 1956 by the Néel‑Chombart family, with the torch passed from mother to daughter over four generations. Over the years, the family has acquired prime vineyard land, now spanning more than 25 hectares of clay and limestone slopes. We craft a beautiful, high‑quality and diversified range of wines, from classic cuvées that reflect our know‑how to more original creations, including wine‑based cocktails. Aged and stored in our troglodyte quarries, our wines enjoy ideal maturation and conservation conditions until your orders are shipped—an advantage that allows us to guarantee exceptional quality.
Sustainable viticulture
We believe that sustainable farming is a comprehensive commitment that combines economic performance with environmental and social responsibility. We aim to maintain healthy soils and encourage biodiversity by putting in place protective measures for species such as flowers, birds, beetles, and earthworms. In addition, our vineyard is home to beehives and produces its own honey to provide a safe haven for wild bees and other pollinators. We have also adopted a biological wastewater treatment method, reflecting our commitment to ecological and responsible agriculture. Viticulture and winemaking go hand in hand with environmental and social responsibility: we are implementing an environmental management system. HVE (High Environmental Value).
To this end, we address three main pillars:
Biodiversity
Promote flora and fauna across our 25 ha vineyard
• Beehives to boost pollination.
• Mowing to encourage flowers and the ecosystem, plus hedge planting.
• Converting plots into flowering fallow areas.
• Take part in biodiversity networks—measure progress and report on plants, insects, birds, and earthworms.
Vineyard Management
Tailor-made solutions focused on keeping the vine healthy while respecting the environment
• Precise weather station to work the vines more efficiently.
• Grass-covered vineyard.
• Water protection in the cellar/vineyards and waste management.

Our Wines
With an annual production of around 250,000 bottles, Château Lamothe offers a varied range of wines, with a strong emphasis on dry whites, which account for 60% of our production (versus 40% reds).
We love to explore the richness of our terroir through different grape varieties to create complex, balanced blends. Our parcels, located mainly in the commune of Haux, include for white wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Sémillon, Muscadelle, Colombard; and for red wines: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Our know-how is expressed through a wide palette of wines: dry whites, reds, rosés, sweet wines, orange wine, and even wine-based cocktails. Each cuvée benefits from precise work adapted to its style and potential: aging in stainless steel tanks, barrel aging, long or short macerations, aging on lees, barrel fermentations…
We vary vessels, aging durations, and techniques to best reveal the quality and character of each wine.
